El pasado martes 12 de junio inauguramos en nuestra galería de arte contemporáneo del centro de Valencia la nueva exposición escultórica de los artistas Venske & Spänle desde que en 2020 realizásemos junto a ellos y otros 6 artistas de la galería el proyecto Inventar el espacio 2020 · Intimidades colectivas.
La exposición se titula “As if we were alone” y pretende hacernos reflexionar sobre nuestra relación con el entorno en estos tiempos tan convulsos en los que guerras, pandemias y cambio climático nos recuerda que no estamos solos en el planeta. Invitándonos de este modo a tener una relación más humilde y modesta con el planeta.
La colección de piezas que en esta ocasión nos traen este tándem de escultores alemanes vuelven a poblar el suelo del ático de nuestra galería de arte, al mismo tiempo, que se aventuran por vez primera a poblar también las paredes de nuestras dos salas expositivas.
Unas piezas que como en otras ocasiones juegan con la perspectiva del espectador, ya que en apariencia se presentan como blandas y maleables, pero al tacto se vuelven frías y rígidas, tal y como se espera de una escultura de mármol, que es el material que las compone. Piezas que combinan tanto mármol de Lasa como de Carrara, ambos provenientes de canteras italianas donde los escultores personalmente se deslazan para obtener su material de trabajo.
La exposición ha sido comisariada por Francisco Carpio, Doctor en Historia del Arte, Crítico de Arte y Profesor de Arte Contemporáneo en la Universidad Francisco de Vitoria de Madrid, y podrá visitarse en nuestra galería durante el periodo estival.

Last Tuesday, June 12, we inaugurated in our contemporary art gallery in the center of Valencia the new sculptural exhibition of the artists Venske & Spänle since in 2020 we realized together with them and 6 other artists of the gallery the project Invent space 2020 Collective intimidation.
The exhibition is entitled "As if we were alone" and aims to make us reflect on our relationship with the environment in these turbulent times in which wars, pandemics and climate change remind us that we are not alone on the planet. Thus inviting us to have a more humble and modest relationship with the planet.
The collection of pieces that this time bring us this tandem of German sculptors again populate the floor of the attic of our art gallery, at the same time, who venture for the first time to also populate the walls of our two exhibition rooms.
Some pieces that as in other occasions play with the perspective of the spectator, since in appearance they are presented as soft and malleable, but to the touch they become cold and rigid, as expected from a marble sculpture, which is the material that composes them. Pieces that combine both Lasa and Carrara marble, both from Italian quarries where sculptors personally slide to obtain their working material.
The exhibition has been curated by Francisco Carpio, Doctor of Art History, Art Critic and Professor of Contemporary Art at the Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid, and can be visited in our gallery during the summer period.
