The exhibition "Pintura fruta" (Fruit Painting) brings together works from the most recent period of the artist Carlos Franco. Paintings dominated by large format, mixed media, digital printing and, above all, the chromatic richness that has characterised the work of this Madrid-born artist since his beginnings in Madrid in the 1970s. In "Pintura fruta" the visitor is taken on a journey through scenes and characters from different worlds, in which apparently random patches of colour combine in harmony and find their inspiration in famous moments from literature and the most fantastic mythology. References to the classical world, religion, visions and dreams are present in an exhibition that Pablo J. Burillo, Director of Culture at Fundación MAPFRE, describes as "A world that has its roots in the history of painting, in the iconography of our different traditions and, in turn, in other more mysterious and obscure magics in which everything seems to play".
