Alejandro Corujeira

"The light guide" gives name to the retrospective exhibition of the Argentinean painter and sculptor Alejandro Corujeira. It was carried out in 2017 and in it we found paintings belonging to each of the three stages that could be distinguished in the artist's career. From his earliest works, marked by the geometry and sinuosity of the forms, until his last work, endowed with a less predictable biomorphism, with subtle strokes that played and conversed with the space that contains them. The colour pencil, the watercolour, the graphite and the acrylic paint were cited in a sample that reflected on the construction and pictorial composition. In it, works with titles as evocative as "Ocean", "Air" or "Light", caused that the viewer's gaze did not stop at any time, because the dynamism generated by the lines of the paintings, made the painting a sensitive, delicate and liberating entity.
