Desde la Galería Ana Serratosa queremos comunicar que estamos muy contentos porque hemos hecho posible que uno de nuestros artistas haya entrado a formar parte de una de las mejores colecciones de arte contemporáneo, la colección Jumex de México. El mecenas y coleccionista Eugenio López adquirió en la subasta que tuvo lugar en la cena de los Premios Iberoamericanos de Mecenazgo 2023 organizada por la Fundación Callia, una obra Land Art del artista Javier Riera. La obra es una proyección de luz única que se disfrutará una vez se instale en los jardines.

Hemos realizado este vídeo para repasar la trayectoria nacional e internacional de Javier Riera y sus vídeo-instalaciones, desde el año 2012, donde dimos comienzo con el proyecto "Alameda Llum 2012" hasta la actualidad. 

*Javier Riera (1964, Avilés. Vive y trabaja en Madrid).Estudió Bellas Artes en Salamanca completando su formación en los Talleres de Arte Actual del Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid. Su trayectoria es de pintor hasta 2008, cuando con motivo de su exposición en el Museo Reina Sofía expone por primera vez fotografías de paisajes intervenidos. El trabajo de Javier Riera se basa en proyecciones de luz de forma geométrica, realizadas directamente sobre la vegetación y el paisaje. Utiliza la fotografía como medio de registro, sin manipulación en ordenador. Su trabajo se basa en una experiencia de intervención real sobre “el espacio y el tiempo del paisaje”, que le aproxima a las propuestas del Land Art. La relación entre geometría y naturaleza adquiere un carácter meditativo, apelando a la convivencia del público con el poder de sugerencia de la modificación del paisaje a la que asiste, que aspira a ampliar su percepción, tendiendo puentes hacia cualidades y dimensiones ocultas de los espacios en los que se produce. Riera entiende la geometría como un lenguaje natural anterior a la materia, capaz de establecer con ella un tipo de resonancia sutil y reveladora...

From Ana Serratosa Gallery we want to communicate that we are very happy because we have made it possible for one of our artists to join one of the best collections of contemporary art, the Jumex collection in Mexico. The patron and collector Eugenio López acquired at the auction that took place at the dinner of the Ibero-American Awards of Patronage 2023 organized by the Callia Foundation, a Land Art work by the artist Javier Riera. The work is a unique light projection that will be enjoyed once installed in the gardens.

We have made this video to review the national and international trajectory of Javier Riera and his video-installations, since 2012, where we began with the project "Alameda Llum 2012" to the present.

*Javier Riera (1964, Avilés. Lives and works in adrid). He studied Fine Arts in Salamanca completing his training at the Taller de Arte Actual of the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. His career was as a painter until 2008, when for his exhibition at the Reina Sofía Museum he exhibited for the first time photographs of intervened landscapes. Javier Riera’s work is based on light projections of geometric shape, made directly on vegetation and landscape. It uses photography as a means of recording, without computer manipulation. His work is based on an experience of real intervention on "the space and time of the landscape", which brings him closer to the proposals of Land Art. The relationship between geometry and nature acquires a meditative character, appealing to the coexistence of the public with the power of suggestion of the modification of the landscape to which it attends, which aspires to expand its perception, bridging the hidden qualities and dimensions of the spaces in which it occurs. Riera understands geometry as a natural language prior to matter, capable of establishing with it a kind of subtle and revealing resonance...
