Alejandra Icaza

Al otro lado del cristal

In the exhibition "al otro lado del cristal", the artist Alejanda Icaza shows us the pictorial universe in which she expresses herself. A multitude of colours and shapes are presented to the viewer, leaving a sense of fun and freshness. In the words of the curator of the exhibition, Javier Hontoria, "her circular monochrome spots are characteristic, arranged according to their own internal logic. But behind these stains lies a dynamic and complex vital plot, a world that, despite its fantastic appearance, only has to do with what has been lived". An abstraction that is nourished by figuration and vice versa, because everything Alejandra Icaza shows us are moments of her daily life, people she remembers, vegetables she has seen, sensations she has perceived. All this in an amalgam of stains and textures that make us move us to the very becoming of the artist who sees the world from "the other side of the glass".
