Bernardí Roig

"Flowers & Faces" marked the return of the multifaceted author Bernardí Roig to the Valencian capital through an exhibition based on watercolours and bronze sculptures. It was a reflection of a very different Bernardí Roig and, at the same time, very similar to the one we have seen evolve over the last three decades. Different because of the relative absence of technological elements, often present in his exhibitions. Similar in the use of literary fiction as a thread running through each of his pieces, as well as in the almost total absence of colour in his work. In "Flowers & Faces" the Mallorcan artist proposed an abandonment of the mythological references, the theatricality and stark realism that emanated from his previous installations, to focus on nature as the main source of inspiration.
