Javier Riera
Caminar, descansar, preservar
"Caminar, descansar, preservar" is the exhibition by Javier Riera held in 2016, which introduces a new artistic element in the artist's career: cyanotype. This term refers to an ancient printing system; a peculiar procedure that was closely linked to the beginnings of photography and which gives images a characteristic bluish tone. This exhibition alludes to the experience of native fauna, to animal presences that are glimpsed, perceived in intense and fleeting appearances that make up a flow of images superimposed on each other. Here, snapshots intermingle with real tactile elements, such as leaves or branches, giving rise to an exhibition that celebrates nature.
