The presence of light in art is an essential theme.
During Middle Ages gold leaf were used to represent sunlight and the presence of the divine. Indirectly, light becomes a fundamental element in Gothic or Baroque architecture, which allowed to simulate within its buildings a suggestive divine atmosphere. And it would be impossible not to highlight how impressionism makes the representation of natural light the main actor of his work.
Light captures our attention, because beyond its beauty, there would be no life without it. Light creates, illuminates and transforms.
