Bob Verschueren

A First Vegetal Flow

The Belgian author Bob Verschueren, whose artistic career is defined by taking nature as the main reference in his works, brings us in "A First Vegetal Flow" an exhibition in which he transfers the natural world to an interior space; where the pieces flood floors and walls, colonise the environment and give rise to a completely transformed landscape. Recognised especially for his outdoor installations, what Verchueren proposes in this exhibition is the complete decontextualisation of the plant elements, thus allowing the visitor to have a new experience based on the perception of the natural object in a setting that was totally alien to it, and in which it acquires an unknown protagonism and meaning. Among the pieces that make up the exhibition, we find works of very varied formats and composition, including small installations that allow the spectator to enjoy a whole experience that is not only visual, but also broadly sensorial. This experience was an "apéritif" of the laborious large-scale project that the artist is carrying out a few months later: "Ecos de la memoria 2016" (Echoes of Memory 2016).
