Una nueva dimensión espacial
The exhibition "A New Spatial Dimension" included sculptures and installations by eight major national and international artists: David Nash (Esher, England, 1945); Iván Navarro (Santiago de Chile, 1972); Martina von Meyenburg (Zurich, Switzerland, 1975); Bill Thompson (Ipswich, Massachusetts - 1957); Jaume Plensa (Barcelona, 1955); Massimo Bartolini (Cecina, Italy, 1962); Stephan Balkenhol (Fritzlar, Germany, 1957) and Joan Brossa (Barcelona, 19 January 1919 - 30 December 1998). Eight artists whose careers and styles converged for the first time in the same space, with pieces that coexisted with each other, surpassing, modifying and enriching the concepts traditionally associated with sculptural objects. In the words of the curator of the exhibition, Francisco Carpio, in this exhibition "the works started from the pictorial plane and ended up acquiring a third dimension".
