Elogio de la obsesión

In the 1980s, groups such as the Italian Transvanguardia and German Neo-Expressionism began to create an artistic framework for debate: liberation from dogmas and free recourse to references and singular traditions, overcoming the concept of the avant-garde, and exaltation of individual creativity, as well as post-colonial thought and a multicultural outlook, bringing about a global contemporary art. This exhibition traces the process of fragmentation of the concept of the avant-garde and subtly suggests the ways in which syntheses of broader artistic currents have been produced through the affirmation of individual, subjective and personal obsessions.

 PRAISE OF OBSESSION

PRAISE OF OBSESSION

SANTIAGO OLMO

Santiago Olmo, critic of the third edition of the exhibition "Vision of Contemporary Art", recounts the relationship of all the artists included in the exhibition: "Seen from its internal processes, this seemingly chaotic labyrinth of individualities begins to be organized in a structure where the diversity of proposals and singular obsessions responds to a very precise and detailed analysis of forms: projects in which obsession gives rigor.
