Orografía del exilio

The work presented under the name "Orography Of Exile" revolves around the term "uprooting" and others such as "exile", "memory" and "history". It is a collection of works created by the French artist Françoise Vanneraud which, starting with the line and the paper, have the power to convert the simple drawing into a sculptural object. Vanneraud uses drawings, murals, light boxes, sculptures made of vegetable paper and wood to capture memory, forgetfulness, the doubt as to whether something exists or not, memories and whether they are true or not, what part of truth they contain... "I believe that in memory there is always something we invent and something we forget. I see it as a subjective perception of space and time. I like to question all these issues and deal with them in my works. I try to make each project an opportunity to pose a hypothesis", says the artist about the exhibition. This project begins with some interviews, correspondence or conversations she had with her neighbours. From these stories and memories she creates her drawings, reinterpreting the memories and experiences of others: "I work intuitively, I draw spontaneously, often in relation to my dreams and my culture, to what I read, what I have been told...".
